3-Peat Secured By The Lady Wasps

There were jubilant scenes at Maple Grove Rugby Park as the Wasps secured their third successive ladies premiership.

In a meeting of the two dominant teams throughout the season the Wasps key players stepped up on the day proving the difference against a strong Assassins side.

The win for the Wasps affords them qualification into the inaugural Ladies Canadian Club Championships to be held in 2019. The Wasps will serve as Manitoba's representative in a game against Saskatchewan's champion for qualification for the knockout finals in Vancouver.

Wombats Go Back To Back In 2018

Congratulations to Manitoba's champion Wombats Rugby Club on going back to back in 2018 with a fine win over fierce rivals Assassins RFC.

The Antipodean Marsupials were able to overcome a spirited Assassins side that had come out on top in previous meetings this season.

Coach Eric La Flamme celebrated the win saying "I couldn't have been more proud of the boys".

The Wombats will come back to defend their title next year, searching for a prestigious "3-peat" and the establishment of a Manitoban Rugby dynasty.
