Rugby Manitoba is proud to announce the formation of a new junior Summer Club Rugby Competition.

This competition is designed to increase the game time of youth players & help facilitate links between schools and local clubs to keep them involved with rugby for life.

Competition Information

Games will be played on Wednesdays primarily, with Saturday morning as a backup fixture time.

The following divisions will be offered;

U16 Boys - Born 2006, 2007 & 2008

U16 Girls - Born 2006, 2007 & 2008

U19 Boys - Born 2003, 2004 & 2005

U19 Girls - Born 2003, 2004 & 2005

The rules of competition will be the “Game On” variation, teams will be expected to have a minimum of 10 players at each game. https://www.world.rugby/the-game/laws/variations/3/game-on/

The season will run for 10 rounds from Jun 15, 2022, with playoffs to be wrapped up by August 20th. There will be a two week break at the end of July before players return for the run into the playoffs.

The anticipated cost of registration will be $175, however some clubs may elect to charge slightly more to cover costs related to kit and travel.

Team Registration Information

There will be no league fees, teams will only be required to pay for their own kit & referee fees related to games. Rugby Manitoba will cover the field rental fees for matches.

Due to liability issues, teams must have a registered trained level 1 coach. Please contact gord@rugbymb.ca for questions regarding coaching qualifications and certification.

All players must be registered on Rugby Canada’s sportlomo registration platform. This can be done by club registrars, by using the junior registration category.

Teams with no club affiliation (i.e. school teams) can be paired with local clubs for registration or the Rugby Manitoba office can support them. Please contact mru@rugbymb.ca for any registration or sportlomo questions.
