About the Role

Rugby Manitoba is seeking two dedicated and organized individuals to serve as League Convenors for the 2025 season. One Convenor will oversee the Men’s Leagues (two divisions), while the other will manage the Women’s League. These positions are responsible for coordinating and overseeing league operations to ensure a successful and well-organized season.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth of rugby in Manitoba, working closely with Rugby Manitoba’s Board, staff, and club representatives.

Key Responsibilities

League Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day league operations, including scheduling, match coordination, and communications.
  • Set up and manage the Veo camera system for game recordings.
  • Maintain accurate match results, player registrations (when required), and league standings.
  • Ensure match results and league updates are posted on Rugby Manitoba’s platforms in a timely manner.

Communication & Compliance

  • Act as the primary contact for teams, coaches, and officials.
  • Ensure the Rules of Competition are updated and reviewed with teams before the season begins.
  • Monitor league policies and ensure compliance from teams, players, and staff.
  • Work with the Disciplinary Committee to address league matters fairly and transparently.
  • Respond to inquiries from clubs and Rugby Manitoba membership in a professional and timely manner.

League Development & Support

  • Foster a positive and inclusive playing environment.
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose strategies to enhance the overall league experience.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in sports administration.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of rugby rules, regulations, and league structures.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, record-keeping, and communication software.
  • Availability for evenings and weekends as required.
