Amber Green is a proud Métis creative with over 15 years of experience in graphic design. As publishing manager at the Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre (MFNERC), she leads the development of culturally relevant educational materials that uplift Indigenous voices and stories.

A graduate of Red River College's Advanced Graphic Design program, Amber's work includes children's book illustrations, jersey designs, print materials and wood-based artwork under her personal brand Stone and Colour. Through her freelance work, she has collaborated with organizations that prioritize indigenous representation, including the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba, Ka Ni Kanichihk, Canadian Mennonite University, and Sport Manitoba.

Amber's design for Rugby Manitoba's new jerseys is rooted in Indigenous symbolism and storytelling. The seven bison featured represent the seven players in Rugby Sevens and serve as a powerful symbol of strength, unity, and endurance. The bison is not only sacred in many First Nations and Métis traditions, but also deeply tied to Manitoba's identity and local heritage, representing both the land and the resilience of its people. The buffalo's role as a provider connects to the values of teamwork, sacrifice and mutual support essential on and off the field.

Floral motifs woven into the design honour First Nations and Red River Métis beadwork traditions, symbolizing growth healing and rootedness. Flowers are often used in ceremonies and medicine, and reflect the interconnectedness between players, their communities, and the land they play on. The presence of trees and northern lights pays tribute to the vast northern landscape of Manitoba - the aurora's energy mirroring the strength and movement of the team as the charge across the field. The entire composition draws inspiration from Woodlands art. The jersey is a statement of identity, history, and collective respect for culture, teammates and the game itself.
