Rugby Manitoba Provincial Performance Program: Phase 1 Launch
December 12, 2025
Rugby Manitoba is pleased to announce Regional Winter Academies as the first step in the launch of the new Provincial Performance Program beginning in 2026.
The launch of Phase 1 of the new Provincial Performance Program builds on the assessment, regional input, and planning work completed in 2024-2025 Fiscal Year, and is grounded in the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan.
In Phase 1, 3 Regional Academies will begin with Winter programming in 2026. These academies will be located in Winnipeg, Brandon, and Dauphin. The regional approach to programming will offer increased opportunities for players graduating from the successful Introduction to Rugby/Rookie Rugby Jamboree programs, as they transition into youth rugby, High School rugby, and age-grade representational rugby before they move into the Senior Club structure.
As Rugby Manitoba works in collaboration with Rugby Canada to launch the new membership and registration platform, please stay tuned to social media channels and the website for registration details. All players and coaches affiliated with the academies must be members of Rugby Manitoba/Rugby Canada in good standing for sanctioning and insurance purposes.
Please see the information below for your local academy. For more information regarding a specific location, please reach out to the contacts listed for the Academy. For general or program related inquiries, please contact Rugby Manitoba Youth Development Officer Paul Van de Merwe at pvandermerwe@rugbymb.ca.
