Regional Rugby Development Officers / Program Coordinator Job Description

$14 per hour, Part Time Position (Average 10 hours per week)  


Rugby Manitoba is seeking an energetic, organised and collaborative person to join their team on behalf of Local Rugby Clubs across Manitoba. The position requires great organisation, communication and problem solving skills. Prior experience organising sporting programs is ideal.

Reporting to both the Club’s Junior Coordinator and Rugby Manitoba’s Development Officer, the position is a part time seasonal position running from July 2020 to February 2021. The RRDO will be expected to work approximately 10 hours per week although workload may vary. 

Job Description

  • Develops, organizes and implements a high-quality Junior Rugby Program.

  • Directs and supervises activities to meet club objectives. Expands programming within the community in accordance with club goals.

  • Secures, schedules and prepares fields and facilities. Including obtaining permits.

  • Recruit volunteer coaches for the season. Manage local coaches to ensure quality delivery of programming.

  • Manage game day operations including management of coaches and their rosters, as needed.

  • Organizes and conducts parent orientation meetings with coaches and training for coaches in conjunction with Rugby Manitoba.

  • Develops and implements a marketing plan to recruit participants for the program.

  • Organises club TRY RUGBY days to bring new people into the sport

  • Develops and maintains community relationships

  • Responds to member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner

  • Compiles program statistics in collaboration with Rugby Manitoba

  • Occasionally be required to assist with Rugby Manitoba Programming

  • Ability to work within the Rugby Manitoba COVID-19 Return to Play Framework.

Desired Qualifications, 

  • Minimum age of 18

  • Supervisory experience

  • Word Processing and communication skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Social media and marketing experience

  • Coaching experience

  • Working with Children

  • Passion for youth development

  • Ability to organise and use time effectively
